BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MOCK FAMILY IN AMERICA AS TAKEN FROM THE NATIONAL
ARCHIVES IN WASHINGTON, D.C. FROM THE CONGRESSIONAL LIBRARY, STARTING FROM
THE PENNSYLVANIA ARCHIVES. 1ST
Generation. Hans George Mock emigrated from Germany out the Rhine River,
embarking from Rotterdam, Holland on the ship “Balley” October 23,
1752 headed for America. The next trace we find him is in Lancaster
County, Pennsylvania records in 1956. Hans George Mock served in the
Revolutionary war against England. The following has been carefully copied
from his discharge papers. This is to certify that Hans George Mock a
soldier belong to the “7th” Pennsylvania Regiment has
served the time he engaged for and received his pav and arrears of pav due
or to become due given under my hand this 27th day of March,
1777. Sam Hay. Major. So far as is known Hans George Mock never moved out
of Pennsylvania. He was listed as a Carpenter, Furniture Maker, Blacksmith
and Farmer. Wife’s name was Sophia, father of eight children. Son John
was in our lineage. 2nd
Generation. John Mock, Son of Hans George Mock, as taken from the early
records of Tuscarawas County, Ohio. John Mock had ten children, some born
in Pennsylvania and some born in Ohio. Records say that he built the first
saw mill in Tuscarawas County, was a Carpenter, Furniture Builder, logger,
mechanic and farmer. The Ohio records state that John Mock moved to
Kosciusko County, Indiana, in 1848 with most of his family. He brought his
father’s army discharge papers with him to Indiana. John Mock
accumulated over 500 acres of land in Kosciusko County and died at the age
of 86 years. 11 months and 11 days at his Son’s farm home in Kosciusko
County. Buried in Mocks Cemetery at North Webster, Indiana. His son David
Mock is in our lineage. 3rd
Generation. David Mock as taken from old Kosciusko County record books.
David Mock entered Tippecanoe Township. Kosciusko county in 1848 and
settled on 116 acres of land of which only 4 acres were cleared with a
small log house on the land. He built a new house and farm buildings and
cleared all the land but a few acres. He died at the age of 82 yrs and one
month. He also is buried in Mocks Cemetery near North Webster on the old
Mock estate. He also was a fine preacher. 4th
Generation. Noah J. Mock, son of David Mock, had seven children, as taken
from old County record books and from different persons who knew him.
Wife’s name was Maria, his youngest Son Harvey F. Mock in our direct
lineage. Noah J. Mock was a fine Carpenter, builder, mechanic, blacksmith
and welder, farmer, lumberman and shoe cobbler. He built his own corn
shredder, tanned his own skins to make the shoes for himself and his
family. He contracted lots of custom work. He was born in 1853 and died
October 28, 1942 at the age of 89 years. His wife Maria was born in 1860
and died May 24, 1936 at the age of 76. They are buried in the Oak Grove
Cemetery, which was part of the Noah J. Mock Estate near North Webster,
Indiana. 5th
Generation. Harvey F. Mock. Son of Noah J. Mock, born March 24, 1885.
Married Eva Belle Miller. December 24th 1912. They had three
children. Cloice W. Mock being in our direct lineage, as their second Son
Harvey F. Mock was a natural born Mechanic and wood worker too. He was a
fine carpenter, cabinet maker, builder, blacksmith, farmer, ordained
minister, logger, saw mill operator, thresher man. He did lots of custom
work and contracting. Built most of his home and barns and out buildings
on his original home site near North Webster. Died October 22, 1977 at the
age of 82 years. 6th
Generation. Cloice Wendell Mock. Son of Harvey F. Mock, born in Kosciusko
County, Indiana on June 17, 1917. Married Evelyn B. Griswold May 28, 1939.
They have three sons Karon Eugene Mock, David Brian Mock and Alan Wendell
Mock. Cloice Wendell Mock is a natural born Carpenter and Mechanic. He
owned and operated a Blacksmith and Machine shop in Kosciusko County for
years. He was also a Farmer, Welder, Steel Worker, Concrete and Stone
mason, bridge Builder, Cabinet and Furniture maker, Design Engineer,
Contractor and Builder. Cloice Wendell Mock has been a Contractor
exclusively in the Roofing and Siding and Home Improvement Contracting
Business since August of 1962. Documented. 7th
Generation. Karon Eugene Mock, son of Cloice W. Mock and Evelyn B. Mock,
also born in Kosciusko County, Indiana on September 7, 1941. Karon Eugene
Mock married Deborah Arletta Skorupa on February 4, 1961. They had 2
children: a son Troy Karon Mock, and a daughter, Taunya Arletta Mock. Troy
will probably start in the family business around 1985, he has already
been seen on the roof with his father on several jobs! Karon also has two
other children from a previous marriage: a son, Brian Eugene and a
daughter, Michelle Gretchen. Karon Eugene Mock is also a natural born
mechanic. He is a steel worker, concrete finisher, cabinet maker,
carpenter contractor and Building and Design Engineer. Has been in
contracting and construction business all his adult life being exclusively
in the roofing, siding and home improvement business since August of 1962.

Generation. David Brian Mock, son of Cloice W. Mock and Evelyn B. Mock,
also born in Kosciusko County, Indiana on October 4, 1945. David Brian
Mock married Linda Ruth Whisler on December 2, 1967. They have two
children, a Son. Shane David Mock and a daughter Brandy Lynn Mock. David
Brian Mock is also a natural born mechanic. He is a steel worker, Concrete
finisher, Cabinet maker, Carpenter, Contractor and Builder and Design
Engineer. Has been in Contracting and Construction Business all of his
adult life, being exclusively in the Roofing and Siding and Home
Improvement Contracting Business since July of 1963. Documented. 7th
Generation. Alan Wendell Mock, Son of Cloice W. Mock and Evelyn B. Mock,
also born in Kosciusko County, Indiana on January 6, 1952. Alan Wendell
Mock married Mary Jan Newman on October 18, 1977. They have two children,
both Sons. Chad Wendell Mock and Clint Alan Mock. Alan Wendell Mock is
also a natural born mechanic. He is a steel worker, concrete finisher,
cabinet maker, carpenter, contractor, Builder and Design Engineer. Has
been in contracting and construction business all his adult life being
exclusively in the Roofing and Siding and Home Improvement Contracting
Business since April of 1969. Documented. 8th
Generation. Brian Eugene studying at Texas A & M University for his
Industrial Engineering degree graduated in 1984. He also began his career
with the roofing and siding business with his father, Karon Eugene Mock. 8th
Generation. Troy Karon Mock, Shane David Mock, Chad Wendell Mock, and
Clint Alan Mock all coming on strong, being raised exclusively in the
